三、使用特性（Usage characteristics）

1、耐火Fire resistance

在礦物絕緣電纜中應用的二種材料銅和氧化鎂是無機物。此種電纜不會燃燒，也不會助燃，在接近火焰的條件下仍可繼續(xù)操作。銅護套的1083℃下熔融，而氧化鎂絕緣材料則在2800℃下固化。

This kind of cable will not burn or support combustion, and can continue to operate under the condition close to the flame. The copper sheath is melted at 1083 ℃, while the magnesium oxide insulating material is solidified at 2800 ℃.

2、操作溫度高High operating temperature

礦物絕緣電纜可耐連續(xù)操作溫度高達250℃。但是，在緊急情況下，電纜可在接近銅護套熔點的溫度下，在短時間內(nèi)繼續(xù)操作。

Mineral insulated cables can withstand continuous operation up to 250 ℃. However, in case of emergency, the cable can continue to operate for a short time at a temperature close to the melting point of the copper sheath.

3、防水、防腐、防爆Waterproof, anti-corrosion and explosion-proof

礦物絕緣電纜采用無縫銅管作為護套，導體、絕緣及護套間是致密壓實體，可阻止蒸汽、氣體和火焰在與電纜連接的設備零件之間通過。

4、外徑小Small outer diameter

   電纜結構緊實，可承受外力的擠壓、撞擊、彎曲、壓扁等，在電纜壓扁至原外徑的1/3左右時，仍可安全工作。

6、載流量大High carrying capacity

7、過載保護能力強Strong overload protection capability

線路過載時，塑料電纜會因電纜過大引發(fā)絕緣發(fā)熱老化或擊穿，而礦物絕緣電纜，發(fā)熱溫度達不到銅的熔點溫度，電纜不會受損。

8、 屏蔽性能好Good shielding performance

銅護套是最佳的屏蔽層，既可防止電纜本身對鄰近線路的干擾，又可防止外界電磁場對自身的干擾。

9、 使用壽命長Long service life

礦物絕緣電纜由無機材料組成，因而不會因絕緣老化原因引起故障。

10、 環(huán)保Environmental protection

礦物絕緣電纜由無機材料組成，電纜即使處在1000℃高溫中，也不產(chǎn)生煙霧，更無鹵素及毒性氣體。

11、 良好的接地Good grounding

電纜的銅護套起到了接地導線的作用并提供了極低的接地電阻，與有機電纜相比，節(jié)省了一根地線。
